Nicholas T. Kocian

Nicholas T. Kocian is the President and Founder of the Kocian Law Group. With more than thirty years of legal experience, his practice focuses on personal injury law, including medical malpractice, motor vehicle accidents, product liability, construction accidents, premises liability, and workers’ compensation claims.

Nicholas earned his Juris Doctor from New York Law School in 1984 after completing his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from St. John University in 1981. His education provided the foundation for a long career in litigation and trial advocacy.

Nicholas has handled cases at every stage of litigation, including civil jury trials, bench trials, workers’ compensation hearings, and appellate proceedings. He has also appeared before the Connecticut Supreme Court, reflecting his extensive courtroom experience.

Before founding his firm, Nicholas practiced at a prominent New York law firm on Wall Street, where he defended physicians and hospitals in medical malpractice claims. This experience gave him a strong understanding of how insurance companies and defense teams approach complex injury cases.

Nicholas later established his own practice in Hartford, Connecticut, focusing on providing responsive, personalized legal representation to individuals injured by negligence. His approach emphasizes strong advocacy and a commitment to protecting client rights.

Under Nicholas’s leadership, the Kocian Law Group has grown into a multi-specialty firm serving clients across multiple locations in Connecticut and New York. The firm is dedicated to representing individuals and families in matters involving serious injuries and legal disputes.

Nicholas T. Kocian is admitted to practice in Connecticut and New York, as well as in the U.S. District Courts for the District of Connecticut and the Southern District of New York.
