About
Nicholas Polasky is a Juneau criminal defense attorney who founded his own practice in 2015. He represents individuals accused of crimes across Southeast Alaska, including allegations involving fish and game violations, DUI, weapons offenses, and unlawful searches or seizures. His office also handles family law and other general litigation matters. He uses his earlier prosecutorial experience to assess evidence, court procedures, and the legal issues that may affect a client’s defense.
Nicholas earned a B.A. in History and Theology from Saint John’s University in 2001. He later attended the University of St. Thomas School of Law on a presidential scholarship and graduated cum laude in 2006 with a law degree. He clerked for Judge James Broberg in Minnesota from 2006 to 2007 before beginning his prosecution career in Alaska. His legal education and clerkship provided a foundation in written advocacy and courtroom procedure.
Nicholas served as an Assistant District Attorney in Ketchikan from 2007 to 2012 and in Juneau from 2012 to 2015. His criminal caseload ranged from traffic offenses to homicide prosecutions. He was a primary prosecutor for fish and game offenses and conducted jury trials in communities including Craig, Haines, Hoonah, Juneau, Kake, Ketchikan, and Petersburg. That history gives him familiarity with criminal proceedings in different Southeast Alaska courts.
Nicholas Polasky received recognition from Alaska’s Office of Victims’ Rights for work performed while he was a prosecutor. He is admitted to practice in Alaska and continues to represent people facing criminal charges and related legal disputes. His background on the prosecution side helps him evaluate charging decisions and scrutinize the evidence presented against his clients. His practice is based in Juneau but extends to communities throughout Southeast Alaska.
