About
Will Walton is a partner at Walton, Theiler & Winegarden, LLC in Kenai, Alaska. His practice focuses on criminal defense, DUI allegations, personal injury, and family law. As a former Alaska Assistant District Attorney, he understands the process prosecutors use to evaluate evidence and decide whether to pursue charges. He represents individuals who need guidance about criminal accusations, litigation, and legal problems with potentially significant personal or financial consequences.
Will earned a bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, with honors, from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1998. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence, also with honors, from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 2003. At SMU he served as an articles editor for the SMU Law Review and assisted with instruction in legal writing and contracts. His education included advocacy work relevant to trial preparation and legal argument.
Will began his legal career in Dallas with a practice involving personal injury and commercial litigation. During law school he had also worked on matters involving wrongful death and medical malpractice. He moved to Kenai in 2006 to become an Assistant District Attorney for the State of Alaska. After prosecuting criminal cases, he returned to private representation. This combination of civil and criminal practice helps him analyze disputed facts and anticipate arguments from opposing counsel.
Will Walton brings experience from both sides of the criminal courtroom to his defense work. He handles allegations that may threaten a client’s freedom, driving privileges, or future opportunities, while also assisting people with serious injury and family matters. His work involves examining police procedures, reviewing evidence, and evaluating the consequences of different legal choices. He uses his background in prosecution and litigation to guide clients through contested proceedings.
