Nicholas J. Garcia is a Partner in the Columbus office of Hall Booth Smith, P.C., where he maintains a focused and growing legal practice. His work centers on bankruptcy law and creditors’ rights, as well as labor and employment law, education law, governmental liability, and business-related litigation. He represents businesses, institutions, and creditors in complex legal matters, helping clients manage risk, resolve disputes, and protect their financial and operational interests through practical and well-reasoned legal strategies.

Nicholas earned his J.D., cum laude, from Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. He also holds an A.B. in Journalism from the University of Georgia. During law school, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Mercer Law Review, demonstrating strong legal research and writing skills. His academic background supports his ability to analyze complex issues and communicate legal positions clearly and effectively.

Nicholas served as a law clerk to the Honorable John T. Laney III of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Middle District of Georgia before joining Hall Booth Smith. In that role, he gained valuable insight into federal bankruptcy proceedings and judicial decision-making. He also co-authored scholarly bankruptcy articles in the Mercer Law Review, contributing to legal scholarship while deepening his knowledge of insolvency law.
