Mindi Vervaecke

Mindi Vervaecke is an Attorney at Law at Wertz Law Firm, P.C., where she handles personal injury and workers’ compensation claims. With almost 30 years of legal experience, she has represented injured people and remained active in Iowa’s legal community through professional groups, committees, seminars, and state commissions.

Mindi earned a B.S. from the University of Iowa in 1993. She later earned a J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law in Iowa City, Iowa, in 1996. She completed her undergraduate studies before continuing at the same university for her law degree and legal education.

Mindi was admitted to the Minnesota bar in 1996 and the Iowa bar in 1997. Her federal admissions also include the U.S. Court of Appeals 8th Circuit in 1998, U.S. District Court Northern District of Iowa in 1999, and U.S. District Court Southern District of Iowa in 2000.

Mindi is a member of the Iowa Association of Justice and the Iowa Association of Workers’ Compensation attorneys. She is also part of the Iowa Association of Justice Workers’ Compensation Core Group and serves as a member of the association’s Continuing Education Committee within Iowa’s broader legal community.

Mindi graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law With Distinction. She was also selected to Super Lawyers from 2014 through 2026. Her honors include her law school distinction and thirteen years of Super Lawyers recognition, covering every year from 2014 through 2026 in her legal career.

Mindi has also contributed to Iowa’s legal system through public and professional service. She has served on the Iowa Supreme Court Nominating Commission and is an Iowa Supreme Court Commissioner on Continuing Legal Education. She also presents Continuing Legal Education programs and has spoken on legal topics at seminars.
