About
Milinda Brown is a skilled trial attorney who advocates for both individuals and companies in a variety of disputes. Her work includes handling shareholder conflicts, contract disagreements, and ownership issues involving closely held businesses. She is also committed to safeguarding the rights of employees in matters involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and broader civil rights violations.
Milinda earned her Juris Doctor magna cum laude from Mercer Law School. While there, she competed on the school’s corporate law moot court team that achieved national success. She contributed to the Mercer Law Review, was inducted into the Order of Barristers, and received the Ruth T. West Award for Advocacy and Leadership, achievements that reflect her strong foundation in legal advocacy.
Milinda has built a record of success in both state and federal courts. She achieved a favorable jury verdict for a physician in a partnership dispute and obtained more than $400,000 in damages in a breach of contract case before Fulton Superior Court. On appeal, she has secured important victories, including having injunctions upheld by both the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court.
Milinda’s legal career began with the Georgia Attorney General’s Office as an Honors Fellow, later serving as an Assistant Attorney General. In that role, she defended state employees in civil rights cases and represented state entities under the Georgia Torts Claim Act. These responsibilities provided her with early experience managing complex and sensitive litigation.
Milinda Brown has earned recognition for her accomplishments, including selection to Super Lawyers and Rising Stars, as well as being honored in 2024 as Young Attorney of the Year at the Southeastern Legal Awards. She continues to demonstrate her leadership as the professionalism and ethics chair for the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia, while delivering strong results for her clients through determined advocacy and appellate skill.
