About
Mike Rosenberg brings broad legal experience to people facing criminal charges, serious injuries, wrongful death claims, and important planning decisions. His work reflects years of service in Virginia courts and communities. He helps clients understand their options, prepare for legal challenges, and move forward with clearer direction during difficult times and cases.
Mike earned his Bachelor of Arts from Temple University in 1983. He then earned his Juris Doctor from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond in 1986. This education helped build the foundation for his courtroom work, client advocacy, and long legal career in Virginia.
Mike began his career as an Assistant Public Defender serving the Portsmouth community. He later became Deputy Public Defender, where he handled criminal defense matters and worked with people who needed strong legal guidance. That public defense background gave him practical courtroom experience and a clear understanding of how criminal cases affect clients.
Mike has practiced law in several settings, including with a private firm and as a sole practitioner. Before his later professional move, he spent 28 years as a partner with Richardson and Rosenberg. During that time, he represented clients in Portsmouth, Suffolk, Chesapeake, Isle of Wight, Franklin, and Southampton.
Mike focuses much of his practice on state court criminal defense. He assists people accused of crimes by reviewing facts, explaining possible outcomes, and protecting their rights throughout the legal process. His experience in public defense and private practice allows him to approach cases with preparation, steady judgment, and practical guidance.
Mike also represents injured individuals in personal injury matters and helps families with wrongful death claims. These cases often involve serious loss, medical concerns, and financial pressure. He works to help clients seek accountability and fair recovery while giving them guidance that is direct, respectful, and easy to understand.
Mike Rosenberg also assists with estate planning services, including wills, powers of attorney, and advance medical directives. His work helps people make important decisions before problems arise. Across his practice, he combines courtroom experience, careful preparation, and client-focused service to support individuals and families facing legal issues.
