About
Alex Bell began practicing law in Hampton Roads in 2013, building a litigation career centered on careful case review and steady courtroom advocacy. He works with clients facing difficult disputes, injuries, criminal charges, and family concerns. His approach focuses on each person’s facts, goals, and legal challenges.
Alex earned his B.S. from Hampden-Sydney College in 2007 and his J.D. from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School in 2012. Before law school, he graduated from Norfolk Academy in 2003. His education helped prepare him for detailed legal analysis, courtroom practice, and client-focused problem solving.
Alex was sworn into the Supreme Court of Virginia and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia in 2013. He is also admitted to the US Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, giving him a strong foundation for handling matters in state and federal settings.
Alex gained early legal experience as a summer law clerk for the Honorable Charles E. Poston in the Norfolk Circuit Court in 2012. That role gave him direct exposure to court procedures and legal decision-making, helping shape the practical skills he later brought to litigation and client representation.
Alex started his law career at Stackhouse, Nexsen & Turrietta, PLLC, where he focused on Workers’ Compensation defense and insurance defense. He later joined Bischoff Martingayle P.C., handling civil and commercial litigation while also developing a workers’ compensation claimant’s practice for injured workers.
Alex later operated his own general litigation law firm in downtown Norfolk for five years. During that time, he represented workers’ compensation claimants, criminal defendants, and other clients with litigation issues. He also offered counsel and services to Hampton Roads organizations, including those connected to the fishing industry.
Alex Bell represents clients in workers’ compensation matters, personal injury, criminal defense, general civil litigation, and family law. Through broad litigation experience, he helps people understand their options, prepare for court, and move through complex legal problems with focused guidance and strong advocacy.
