Mike Regitz

Mike Regitz focuses his practice at RegitzMauck, PLLC on intellectual property law and complex business disputes. He handles patent, trademark, copyright, trade dress, contract, and trade secret matters for businesses and technology clients. He is licensed in Texas and admitted before federal courts. He is also registered with the US Patent and Trademark Office, where his prosecution work includes patent and trademark appeals, opposition proceedings, and other contested intellectual property proceedings and matters.

Mike earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. He earned his B.S. from Texas A&M University. During law school, he served as a Staff Editor and Corporate Counsel Symposium Editor for the SMU Law Review. He was also elected to the Order of the Coif. His academic background regularly supports a practice involving technically detailed disputes, intellectual property rights, and sophisticated commercial issues.

Mike has been a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) since 2017. He advises clients on cybersecurity, data privacy, and cyber insurance coverage issues and disputes. His litigation experience includes patent infringement, trademark infringement, copyright claims, trade secret misappropriation, technology contracts, software licensing, and arbitration matters. He has successfully served as trial co-counsel and appellate lead counsel, including in a contract dispute that produced a unanimous appellate opinion favoring his clients.

Mike Regitz has earned professional recognition for legal practice and public service. He was selected as a Texas Super Lawyer from 2017 through 2026 and was named among D Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Dallas in 2019. He has received the Outstanding Clinic Attorney Volunteer honor from the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program four times. He also has held leadership roles with legal organizations and has supported veterans through pro bono service.
