Michelle earned two Bachelor of Science degrees in Political Science and Psychology from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 1996. She then completed her Juris Doctor at the University of Nebraska College of Law in 2000. Michelle began her legal journey clerking for the Honorable Edward E. Hannon at the Nebraska Court of Appeals. Michelle started private practice in 2001, representing insurance companies in civil litigation. She advised insurers on policy coverage for auto, business, and workers’ compensation claims. Michelle later shifted her focus to representing injured individuals. She now uses her previous experience to challenge insurance company tactics and improve outcomes for her clients.
