Michael V. Caracappa

Michael V. Caracappa is a litigator with a practice focused on white collar criminal defense and complex commercial matters. He represents clients in sensitive, high-stakes disputes and has served as second chair in both civil and criminal jury trials, including a six-week federal criminal trial. His experience includes conducting direct and cross-examinations and shaping trial strategy in contested cases.

Michael earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. He served as Associate Editor of the Seton Hall Law Review, Senior Notes Editor of the Seton Hall Legislative Journal, and was a member of the Faculty Curriculum Committee.

Michael was also recognized as a Chancellor Scholar, Charles A. Sullivan Endowed Scholar, and a member of the Honor Council. He received his Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from Montclair State University, along with a Certificate in Child Advocacy and Policy.

In practice, Michael has built extensive experience in motion practice, securing significant victories for clients. He helped obtain a complete summary judgment win in a quarter-billion-dollar incentive grant dispute and another decisive victory for a nationally recognized insurance company in the Southern District of New York.

Michael’s work also encompasses appellate litigation, intellectual property disputes, electronic discovery, and regulatory investigations. He has been named to the New Jersey Super Lawyers Rising Stars list for Business Litigation, a recognition of his strong advocacy and client-focused results.
