Elena Cicognani

Elena Cicognani is an attorney concentrating on business and commercial litigation. She brings valuable experience to her practice, gained through clerkships in both federal and state courts, where she handled a broad range of complex civil and criminal matters. Elena’s work includes research, drafting opinions, and preparing legal analyses to support judicial decision-making.

Elena earned her Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law, where she served as Associate Editor of the Fordham International Law Journal and was a member of the Moot Court Board, holding the position of Cyber Law Editor. She completed her undergraduate studies at The University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. During law school, Elena gained additional experience as a Federal Litigation Clinic Intern and as a Summer Associate with Joseph Hage Aaronson LLC in New York.

Elena’s judicial background includes serving as a Law Clerk to the Honorable David H. Hennessey, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the District of Massachusetts, where she drafted orders, Reports, and Recommendations, as well as opinions involving toxic torts, tax disputes, malpractice claims, and civil rights litigation.

Elena also clerked for the Honorable Jack M. Sabatino, Presiding Judge of the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division, where she prepared appellate bench memoranda on a range of criminal and civil law issues. Earlier in her career, she externed for the Honorable Vincent L. Briccetti, U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of New York.
