About

Michael A. Taitelman is a founding partner of Liner Freedman Taitelman + Cooley LLP, where he brings decades of litigation experience to complex real estate, employment, and business disputes. Known for his skill in both jury and non-jury trials, he has represented clients in high-stakes matters across California’s legal landscape.

Michael earned his Juris Doctor from the prestigious Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley in 1991, after completing his Bachelor of Arts at the same institution in 1988. He is admitted to practice in California and maintains active involvement in the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

Throughout his career, Michael has advised and defended a wide array of clients, including developers, syndicators, and investors in commercial, residential, industrial, and hospitality property disputes. His work often centers on “business divorces,” tackling complex entity conflicts in both California and Delaware-based companies.

In addition to his litigation practice, Michael acts as a strategic counselor and outside general counsel to clients ranging from startup ventures to publicly traded corporations. He is especially valued by clients in the food service, hospitality, and real estate industries for his practical insight and legal foresight in managing operational risks.

Michael Taitelman’s consistent excellence has earned him accolades, including being named a Southern California “Super Lawyer” every year from 2008 to 2025, and inclusion in the Top 100 Southern California Super Lawyers in 2010, 2012, and 2024. Michael continues to deliver results-driven advocacy that protects clients’ interests and advances their business goals.
