Michael T. Mihm

Michael T. Mihm is a nationally recognized trial lawyer whose practice centers on plaintiff-side legal malpractice and complex civil litigation. He has earned multiple “Lawyer of the Year” honors from Best Lawyers in America® and is one of the few attorneys certified as a specialist in legal malpractice law by the State Bar of California. Michael routinely handles high-stakes matters involving major law firms and complex disputes across business, commercial, and professional liability issues.

Michael earned his J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law and his B.A., cum laude, from Walla Walla College. He is admitted to practice in California and Colorado, as well as multiple federal courts, including the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Northern, and Southern Districts of California, the District of Colorado, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Ninth and Tenth Circuits. His education and admissions reflect the depth of experience he brings to every case.

Throughout his career, Michael has litigated hundreds of legal malpractice lawsuits, tried numerous cases to verdict, and served as an expert witness in matters involving attorney ethics, professional standards, and fee disputes. His work spans business torts, fraud, intellectual property issues, commercial conflicts, and select catastrophic injury and medical malpractice cases. He has also contributed to major legal publications, including serving as managing editor of Lawyers’ Professional Liability in Colorado, a leading treatise on malpractice and ethics.

Michael T. Mihm has held significant leadership roles, including serving as Past President of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association and as a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is active in national and state legal organizations, teaches trial advocacy, and speaks frequently on topics involving professional responsibility and trial strategy. As a co-founder of Ogborn Mihm LLP, Michael continues to guide clients through demanding litigation with a focus on preparation, integrity, and results.
