Michael M. Sperry

Michael M. Sperry is a member at Schweet Linde & Coulson, PLLC, where he focuses his practice on creditor-debtor law. With nearly a decade of experience representing both consumer and corporate debtors, he brings a well-rounded perspective to his current work on behalf of creditors. His background allows him to understand the strategies and challenges faced by financially distressed clients, which he uses to negotiate practical and effective resolutions.

Sperry earned his B.A., cum laude, from Arizona State University and his J.D. from Willamette University College of Law.

Sperry’s legal career includes representing clients in out-of-court settlements and bankruptcy proceedings under Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13. His understanding of both sides of the debtor-creditor relationship allows him to guide clients through complex legal and financial situations. In addition to his bankruptcy work, he has handled state court litigation and receivership proceedings on behalf of creditors throughout Washington.

Sperry is licensed to practice in all Washington State Courts, as well as in the Federal and Bankruptcy Courts for both the Western and Eastern Districts of Washington. He has also been admitted to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Sperry is active in the legal community and currently serves as chair of the executive committee for the Creditor-Debtor section of the King County Bar Association. He regularly presents at continuing legal education seminars hosted by the Washington State and King County Bar Associations, as well as at Seattle University School of Law. His presentations focus on current issues and strategies in creditor-debtor law.

In recognition of his work, Sperry was named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine in both 2020 and 2021—an honor given to just 2.5% of lawyers under age 40 in Washington.
