Michael L. Rutkowski is the founder of Rutkowski Law Firm, a Michigan-based practice focused on estate planning, asset protection, and elder law. With over two decades of legal experience, Michael helps families secure their futures through proactive planning, Medicaid qualification strategies, and legal tools that avoid probate and preserve wealth. A passion for helping others drives his client-first approach—whether through legal services, business coaching, or leading community education workshops.

Michael holds a B.B.A. in Sales and Business Marketing from Western Michigan University’s Haworth College of Business and earned his J.D. with a concentration in Business Transactions from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

Michael began his legal career in workers’ compensation and employment law, gaining valuable insight into litigation and insurance systems. In 2010, his focus shifted to estate planning, where he found a meaningful way to guide families during pivotal life transitions. His practice has since expanded to include Medicaid planning, elder law, estate tax strategies, veterans benefits planning, and special needs planning.

He also hosts monthly public workshops and professional networking events, building a legal practice known for accessibility, education, and empowerment.
