About

Misty Clark Vantrease is a dedicated elder law attorney who has spent years guiding individuals and families through complex legal issues related to aging and long-term care. Her work focuses on areas such as probate and estate administration, guardianship, Medicaid planning, and veterans’ benefits. With a strong legal foundation and compassionate approach, she has supported countless clients in planning for the future.

Misty began her academic journey at Murray State University, where she earned her B.A. degree summa cum laude in 1998. She then received her Juris Doctor from the University of Louisville School of Law in 2001. In 2017, she completed her LL.M. in Elder Law from Stetson University College of Law, graduating with High Honors. This specialized training has enriched her ability to address the legal needs of the elderly.

Misty began her legal career as an assistant public defender, spending ten years fighting for clients’ rights in both the general trial and capital divisions. This intensive courtroom experience gave her a powerful understanding of complex cases, high-stakes advocacy, and compassionate client support. Today, she draws on that foundation to offer skilled, client-focused representation in elder law and long-term care planning.

Misty is well-recognized within her profession and served as the past chair of the Elder Law Section of the Kentucky Bar Association. Her peers acknowledged her excellence early in her career when she received the Frank Haddad Outstanding Young Lawyer Award from the Louisville Bar Association in 2005. Her experience has helped clients secure Medicaid benefits, VA Aid & Attendance, and necessary legal protections.

Misty Clark Vantrease continues to empower individuals and families by providing reliable legal solutions tailored to each stage of aging. With a thoughtful and professional approach, she ensures clients understand their rights and options while preparing for life’s changes.
