Michael L. Gallagher

Michael L. Gallagher is a founding partner of Gallagher & Kosner Law, LLC. His practice focuses on catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, civil rights, and medical malpractice cases. He represents injured people and families in serious claims, using trial skill, careful case work, and strong preparation to pursue recovery.

Michael earned his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois, in 2003, with CALI Trial Advocacy I & II honors. He also earned a B.A. and an M.P.A. from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, in 2000, laying a strong foundation for advocacy.

Michael has secured more than $230 million in settlements and verdicts since moving to plaintiff work in 2016. In the past 18 months, he has recovered more than $150 million for clients. His results include major verdicts and settlements in injury, wrongful death, malpractice, and civil rights cases.

Michael has been named an Illinois Super Lawyer, an Illinois Leading Lawyer, and one of America’s Top 100 Personal Injury Attorneys for Illinois. He was also named to Leading Lawyers magazine’s Top 10 Illinois Emerging Lawyers and Law Bulletin Publishing Company’s Forty Under 40 list.

Michael’s background includes work as a prosecutor, defense attorney, and plaintiff’s advocate. This experience gives him a broad view of complex litigation. He has tried more than 30 jury trials in state and federal courts and has argued before state and federal appellate courts several times.

Michael handles personal injury, medical malpractice, civil rights, social services negligence, sexual abuse, negligent security, ride-share negligence, and maritime cases. He is admitted in Illinois, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois.

Michael L.
