Michael J. Raposa is an Associate in DarrowEverett’s Tax, Trusts & Estates, and Energy & Infrastructure Practice Groups. He works with individuals, businesses, and public and private entities. His practice focuses on estate planning, wealth preservation, asset planning, tax mitigation, corporate tax matters, and corporate transactions for clients with care.

Michael earned a J.D. cum laude from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the University of William & Mary. He also earned a B.A. in History & Political Science, magna cum laude, from Stonehill College. This training supports his work across tax, trusts and estates, corporate matters, energy, infrastructure, and client needs in practice.

Michael advises on trusts and estate matters for individuals and businesses. He helps clients plan estates, preserve wealth and assets, and address tax mitigation strategies. His work provides clients with practical guidance on planning needs, business concerns, and long-term financial goals within the scope of his practice and their goals alike.

Michael has tax experience in structuring and selling real estate investment assets. He works with managers, accountants, and in-house counsel to resolve tax-related issues. His work includes business formation, restructuring, federal income tax deductions, tax compliance, securities filings, and income tax return matters for business clients and teams.

Michael has earned Super Lawyers Rising Stars 2025 recognition in Energy & Natural Resources and Tax. He also received the Professional Excellence in Law award from Rhode Island Monthly. During his education, he received the John E. Donaldson Tax Award and the D’Agostino History Thesis Award for his professional work.

Michael J. Raposa brings prior transactional tax experience from a large Boston-based firm. He assisted clients with M&A transactions, REITs, securities filings, tax compliance, and tax matters for wealthy individuals, estates, trusts, and private foundations. He also writes on business succession, clean energy credits, and tax strategies for client matters.
