Michael J. Heath

Michael J. Heath brings over 27 years of experience to his legal practice, focusing on consumer bankruptcy law as well as wills, trusts, and estate planning. Having helped thousands of clients, he is recognized for his commitment to treating each case with respect, dignity, and individual attention. His approach emphasizes both professional guidance and compassionate service.

Before beginning his legal career, Michael served in the United States Navy as a Navy Corpsman, with deployments to the U.S. Marine Corps and aboard the USS Yellowstone. Following his honorable discharge, he attended Springfield College in Massachusetts, where he earned his B.S. degree, and subsequently earned his J.D. from Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia. These experiences instilled in him discipline, resilience, and a strong dedication to serving others.

Throughout his career, Michael has been an active member of the legal community. He is a past president, president, and board member of the Tidewater Bankruptcy Bar Association and has also been a member of the Virginia State Bar, Virginia Beach Bar Association, and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. He was also honored as a recipient of the Virginia State Bar’s Outstanding Young Lawyer Award and served as a circuit representative for the Virginia State Bar Young Lawyers Conference.

Michael J. Heath is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Virginia and all courts within the Commonwealth of Virginia. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. His decades of legal service reflect a steadfast dedication to guiding clients through complex legal challenges with clarity and confidence.
