Carl A. Eason, President of Wolcott Rivers Gates, has been serving clients since 1980 with a strong focus on creditors’ rights, bankruptcy, and environmental law. He represents banks, credit unions, and finance companies in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 matters, while also advising on collateral recovery, wetlands regulations, and land use compliance.

Carl earned his Juris Doctor in 1979 from the University of Richmond T.C. Williams School of Law and the University of Virginia School of Law. Before that, he received both his Master of Arts in 1975 and Bachelor of Arts in 1974 from the University of Virginia. During his academic years, he participated in the National Moot Court Team and was inducted into the Omicron Delta Kappa honor society.

Over his career, Carl has established himself as a trusted voice in complex matters, lecturing frequently on creditors’ rights, environmental compliance, and riparian law. His experience includes serving as counsel in Langley v. Meredith, a landmark U.S. Supreme Court case shaping riparian rights. He also advises the Hampton Roads Marine Contractors Association on maritime and waterfront issues.
