About
Michael Goodman is an associate attorney with Bachus & Schanker and a member of the firm’s complex litigation team. He joined the firm in 2024 after approximately three decades of litigating injury-related cases. His recent work before joining the firm included serving as a sole practitioner for people injured through negligence, including claims involving unreasonable or substandard medical care. His current work brings that injury-litigation background to the firm’s complex litigation team.
Michael earned a J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1994, graduating cum laude. He received an M.A. from the University of Denver in 1987 and a B.A. from Colorado College in 1984. His academic background, combined with decades of injury litigation, provides a foundation for analyzing negligence issues, medical evidence, damages, and the procedural demands of complex injury-related civil cases.
Michael began his legal career as a law clerk to Chief Judge Sherman G. Finesilver of the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado. He later spent many years litigating injury claims and represented clients as a sole practitioner before joining Bachus & Schanker. That experience gives him a long view of case development, evidence, medical-care disputes, and the practical demands involved in pursuing civil claims based on negligence.
Michael Goodman is admitted in Colorado and is affiliated with the Colorado Bar Association and Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. He brings federal clerkship experience, long-term private practice, and complex injury litigation experience to his current work. By reviewing factual and medical records closely, he helps clients evaluate negligence claims, develop supporting evidence, and pursue legal remedies in cases involving serious injury and allegedly substandard medical care.
