Michael D. Newman has built a respected legal career representing clients in workers’ compensation, personal injury, wrongful death, and criminal defense matters. Since his admission to the Wyoming Bar in 1988, he has stood beside individuals and families, working to protect their rights in both state and federal courts.

Michael earned his B.S. from the University of Wyoming in 1982 before completing his J.D. at the University of Wyoming in 1987. These academic achievements provided him with the skills and foundation needed to practice law successfully. His dedication led to admission not only in Wyoming state courts but also in the U.S. District Court for the District of Wyoming and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Michael has taken on significant cases throughout his career, including reported decisions such as Mendicoa v. State, Duran v. Board of County Commission of Sweetwater County, and Sidwell v. State ex rel. Wyoming Worker’s Compensation Division. His work has shaped important aspects of Wyoming law while giving a voice to injured workers, accident victims, and those facing criminal charges.

Michael’s leadership has extended into professional organizations as well. He served as President of the Wyoming Trial Lawyers Association from 1997 to 1998 and has been a member of the Wyoming State Bar’s Board of Law Examiners since 2001. In addition, his contributions have been acknowledged by his inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America, a recognition of his commitment to professional excellence.
