Michael C. Guanzon

Michael C. Guanzon is an experienced business and commercial transactions attorney with a strong background in health law and regulatory matters. He represents municipalities, local government agencies, private and public companies, and acute-care hospitals. His practice covers corporate law, commercial real estate, public-sector matters, health care, lending, real estate development, and finance.

Michael earned a B.A. from the University of Virginia in 1991 and a J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law in 1995. He is admitted to practice in Virginia, North Carolina, and the District of Columbia. His professional service includes leadership roles with state and specialty bar organizations, as well as service to the University of Virginia Alumni Association.

Michael advises clients on general corporate, regulatory, and securities issues. He also handles complex commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, financing, procurement, contract negotiations, and board matters. His work includes corporate succession planning, shareholder and joint venture buyouts, post-acquisition integration, commercial leases, purchase and sale agreements, franchise agreements, and development projects involving multiple municipalities.

He has served as general counsel to hospitals, health systems, physician practices, assisted living facilities, and other health-related organizations.
