Rick Martin

Rick Martin is the founder and managing partner of The Bethany Law Center, LLP, and he advises families and business owners in Oklahoma. He concentrates on estate planning law, trusts, probate, business succession, and related commercial matters. His estate planning work helps clients document their wishes, protect assets, plan for incapacity, and provide for loved ones. His business-focused guidance also helps owners coordinate personal estate plans with the future transfer or continuation of their companies.

Rick earned his B.S. with honors from Southern Nazarene University. He later earned his J.D. from the University of Oklahoma. He began practicing law in 1986 and is admitted in Oklahoma. His education and decades of experience support his work with individuals, families, organizations, and closely held businesses facing interconnected legal and financial concerns.

Rick uses his practice to help clients prepare trusts, wills, durable powers of attorney, health care powers of attorney, and advance health care directives. He also guides trustees and personal representatives through probate and trust administration, including asset collection, creditor issues, tax obligations, valuations, and distributions. His business practice includes entity formation, operating and shareholder agreements, buy-sell arrangements, employment documents, contract review, compliance, business purchases, and sales. He also assists owners with succession strategies designed to preserve continuity and reduce uncertainty.

Rick Martin draws on his personal understanding of estate planning because he experienced the sudden loss of his father without a plan in place. He uses that experience to make complex decisions clearer and to help clients avoid similar stress. His approach emphasizes understandable advice, individualized plans, and coordinated solutions for family assets and business interests. He and his wife purchased the firm’s historic Bethany building in 2011 and preserved its original character while developing it into a modern law office.
