Michael A. Timbes is a respected South Carolina attorney and co-founder known for his excellence in business litigation, personal injury, and civil mediation. Michael earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina before graduating cum laude from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was honored with the Order of the Coif and Order of Wig and Robe. During law school, he clerked for the Honorable Kaye G. Hearn, then Chief Judge of the South Carolina Court of Appeals. His academic achievements and clerkship experience provided the foundation for his meticulous and analytical approach to litigation.

Michael A. Timbes began his career at Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, PLLP, in Atlanta, handling complex business disputes nationwide and co-authoring successful appeals in state and federal courts. In 2005, he co-founded Thurmond Kirchner & Timbes, P.A., in Charleston, where he directs the firm’s business, civil, and appellate practice groups. As a Certified Civil Court Mediator, he is widely recognized for his ability to resolve disputes efficiently while maintaining fairness and professionalism.

Michael A. Timbes has been named to South Carolina Super Lawyers from 2016 through 2022 and is a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. His notable results include a $1,000,000 settlement for a family affected by a tragic DUI crash and several confidential high-value recoveries.
