Micaela earned her Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from San Diego State University, where she began developing her passion for the law. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law, graduating magna cum laude. While in law school, she contributed to the Law Review as an editor, had her work published, and competed on the school’s nationally ranked trial team. Her dedication to the craft of trial advocacy has continued post-graduation, and she is now serving as a coach for the same program.

Micaela launched her legal career as a defense attorney, serving in-house at two of the nation’s largest insurance companies. There, she managed hundreds of personal injury cases, working directly with insurance adjusters and gaining an insider’s understanding of how insurance defense teams build their strategies.
