Melissa R. Soberalski

Melissa R. Soberalski is the Managing Attorney at Soberalski Law, serving clients in West Allis and Lake Geneva. She focuses on immigration law and helps individuals and families move through the legal process with clarity and care. Her work includes family-based immigration, citizenship, naturalization, DACA, and visa matters.

Melissa earned her J.D. from Marquette University Law School in 2012. She earned her B.A. in Political Science, with a concentration in Immigration & Migration Studies, from UC San Diego in 2005. She also studied at Justus Liebig University Giessen in 2010, adding further international legal education.

Melissa founded and served as president of Marquette University Law School’s first Immigration Law Society. During law school, she interned with Catholic Charities Legal Services for Immigrants in Milwaukee and the National Immigrant Justice Center’s Asylum Project, gaining direct experience with immigration matters and service to immigrant communities.

Melissa received the Public Interest Law Student of the Year Award from the Wisconsin State Bar. Her honors also include Wisconsin Super Lawyers® from 2020 to 2022, Lawyers of Distinction™ in 2021, AILA Pro Bono Champion in 2020, and Diversity at Marquette Law – Rising Stars in 2018.

Melissa provides pro bono service through Voces de la Frontera and the Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic. In 2022, she was designated Consultant Attorney for the Consulate of Mexico in Milwaukee. She is a member of the Wisconsin State Bar, AILA, Wisconsin Hispanic Lawyers Association, and other professional organizations.
