Melissa (Lisa) Lang Schutt is a Nebraska attorney with extensive experience in family law and child support matters. She has served both in private practice and in public service, representing individuals and families in legal matters involving support, custody, and related issues.
Lisa earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and Political Science, magna cum laude, from Doane College in 1981. She later received her Juris Doctor from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1984.
Lisa practiced law in private practice for 16 years, representing clients in a variety of legal matters. Her work included advising individuals and families on legal issues while providing practical guidance and representation in court proceedings.
Lisa also served as a Child Support Enforcement Attorney for the State of Nebraska for 13 years. In this role, she worked on cases involving child support enforcement and related family law matters, helping ensure compliance with court orders and legal obligations.
Lisa is admitted to practice in federal, state, and county courts in Nebraska. She is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association and the Dodge County Bar Association.
Lisa previously served as President of the Dodge County Bar Association. She is also a current member of the Nebraska State Bar Association District 3 Committee on Inquiry.
Melissa (Lisa) Lang Schutt is certified as a Guardian ad Litem and serves in that capacity in court proceedings involving children’s interests. She has also served as a board member and officer for several local nonprofit organizations.
