McKenzie R. Blau

McKenzie R. Blau is a shareholder at O’Connor & Thomas, P.C., licensed to practice law in Iowa and Illinois. Her general practice includes business law, corporate law, bankruptcy, appellate practice, labor and employment, and real estate. McKenzie earned a B.A. in Political Science with distinction from the University of Iowa. She also completed a Pre-Law Certificate during her undergraduate studies. She later earned a J.D. with high honors from Drake University Law School. During law school, she worked as a student attorney at the Drake Legal Clinic. She also served as an intern for Judge Anita L. Shodeen at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Iowa.

McKenzie built her legal career through academic achievement, legal research, and client-focused work. She served as a research assistant to former Drake University Law School Dean David S. Walker and received the CALI Award for the highest grade in Insurance Law. After law school, she was elected to the Order of the Coif, a national honor society for top law graduates. She joined her firm in 2012 and developed a broad practice serving individuals and businesses.
