Matthew L. Bycer

Matthew L. Bycer is a seasoned patent attorney with over 15 years of experience in securing, defending, and enforcing intellectual property rights. Based at Bycer Marion, he provides legal services across a wide range of technologies, including mechanical systems, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, software, games, toys, and oil and gas processing. He has consistently ranked among the top U.S. patent practitioners for both utility and design patents, and holds an AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell, reflecting the highest standards in legal ability and ethics.

Mr. Bycer earned dual undergraduate degrees in Physics and Business-Economics from Brown University. He later received a joint Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from the University of Arizona. During his legal studies, he worked with the UA Office of Technology Transfer and completed an externship under Chief Judge Stephen M. McNamee of the U.S. District Court for Arizona, where he contributed to complex patent litigation in aeronautics.
