Matthew Gipson

Matthew S. Gipson is a seasoned attorney with more than a decade of courtroom experience. His practice centers on criminal defense and personal injury, where he applies trial strategy, investigative discipline, and measured judgment to protect rights, challenge allegations, and pursue fair outcomes for individuals facing serious legal challenges daily.

Matthew built his academic foundation through competitive collegiate study and formal legal training. He earned an Associate of Science from North Idaho College. He later completed a BA in History at the University of Hawaii Manoa. His education culminated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Willamette University School of Law, including a Certificate in Dispute Resolution.

Matthew began his legal career in Oregon, gaining critical insight as a prosecutor with the Marion County District Attorney’s Office. That role shaped his understanding of charging decisions, evidence, and jury dynamics. He later served as a defense attorney, trying more than fifty criminal jury trials across twenty-four counties, handling complex matters statewide.

Matthew developed a reputation as a disciplined trial advocate through hands-on courtroom leadership. He acted as lead attorney in a Portland, OR, murder case reduced to Criminally Negligent Homicide. His jury work spans DWI, domestic violence, sexual assault, manslaughter, and other serious felony allegations, requiring strategic analysis and steady courtroom presence.

Matthew now represents clients in Texas, drawing on prosecutorial experience to anticipate opposing strategies. His practice includes criminal defense and personal injury, with admission to the State Bar of Texas, the Oregon State Bar, the United States District Court for the District of Oregon, and the Federal Court, Northern District of Texas.

Matthew Gipson demonstrates commitment to justice through disciplined advocacy and professional leadership. He was selected as a National Member of the Order of Barristers and received the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Award from Willamette University College of Law.
