About

Gregory Reeder has built more than 22 years of courtroom experience advocating for clients across Illinois. He handles criminal defense, civil litigation, divorce, family law, and juvenile matters. His work covers felony and misdemeanor charges as well as complex family disputes, with a steady focus on preparation, strategy, and client protection.

Gregory earned a B.A. in History and Philosophy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he developed strong research and analytical skills. He later completed his J.D. at the University of Illinois College of Law, Urbana-Champaign, gaining formal training in litigation, statutory interpretation, and courtroom advocacy principles, and practice within structured academic legal settings.

Gregory served five years as an Assistant Public Defender in Will County, working in felony, misdemeanor, and juvenile divisions. During this period, he conducted numerous jury trials involving traffic offenses, serious felonies, and sensitive juvenile cases, building practical insight into courtroom procedure, evidence review, and trial presentation under demanding courtroom conditions.

Gregory is frequently appointed by Will County Judges as a Guardian ad Litem in contested family law matters. In this role, he investigates facts, meets with children and parents, interviews witnesses, and delivers recommendations focused on the best interests of the children, which courts rely upon when making critical decisions.

Gregory applies his family law experience to protect parents and children during high-conflict disputes. He has guided clients through adoption proceedings, emergency safety concerns, and custody conflicts by coordinating across jurisdictions, presenting clear evidence, and advocating decisively so that courts prioritize stability, protection, and long-term well-being for the families involved.

Gregory brings the same determination to criminal defense matters, challenging unlawful stops, improper arrests, and unsupported charges. Through detailed investigation and assertive motion practice, he has secured dismissals, acquittals, and restored rights for clients facing DUI, traffic violations, and serious criminal accusations at multiple stages of litigation.

Gregory Reeder is admitted to the State of Illinois Bar and the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois. He maintains active involvement with the Will County Bar Association and DuPage Bar Association, approaching each case with honesty, preparation, and persistence while working to protect rights and guide clients through difficult legal situations.
