About
Matthew F. McColl is a partner and attorney at Quane McColl in Boise who has dedicated his career to defending businesses, hospitals, and medical professionals. He handles healthcare law, medical malpractice defense, and civil litigation matters and has tried cases throughout Idaho. His practice also includes appellate work, and he regularly argues cases before the Idaho Supreme Court while representing clients across most counties in the state.
Matt earned a B.A. from the College of Idaho in 1995, graduating with honors. He received his J.D. in 1999 from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, where his studies also included Political Theory, International Relations, and the Law. After law school, he completed a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Kathryn Sticklen of Idaho’s Fourth Judicial District, gaining early experience with trial-court decision-making and procedure.
McColl has spent his legal career with the lawyers now practicing at Quane McColl. His work has involved defending medical providers and facilities, businesses, and other clients in litigation across Idaho, and his Alaska practice is also statewide. He has represented clients in 41 of Idaho’s 44 counties, tried cases in different parts of the state, and developed significant experience handling matters that can progress from investigation through trial and appeal.
Matthew F. McColl is admitted in Idaho, Washington, and Alaska and is affiliated with the Idaho Association of Defense Counsel and the Alaska Healthcare Law Section. He has also devoted substantial time to pro bono service through the Ada County CASA Child Protection Program and related committees. His practice combines courtroom experience, healthcare-industry knowledge, appellate advocacy, and long-term service to clients and the legal community.
