About
Matthew C. Curl is an Associate Attorney with Bond & Botes who works with clients from the firm’s Huntsville, Cullman, and Decatur offices. He focuses on consumer bankruptcy and bankruptcy litigation, helping individuals address debt through the federal bankruptcy system. His work includes reviewing financial circumstances, explaining available forms of relief, preparing for required filings and hearings, and assisting when disputes arise within or alongside a bankruptcy case.
Curl earned a B.S. in Philosophy and Political Science, cum laude, from the University of Alabama in 2022. He received his Juris Doctor from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law in 2025. During law school, he served as Lead Negotiator for the National Mediation Team and contributed to the Center for Children, Law, and Ethics Journal. Those experiences strengthened his research, writing, negotiation, and structured problem-solving skills.
Before joining Bond & Botes in 2026, Curl spent a year in general practice in Jasper, Alabama. That early experience gave him exposure to client counseling and a range of legal matters before he concentrated on bankruptcy work. In his current practice, he assists consumers with the procedural and litigation issues that can arise during bankruptcy, helping clients organize information, respond to legal requirements, and understand how court decisions may affect their financial plans.
Matthew C. Curl brings recent legal training, mediation experience, and a developing bankruptcy litigation practice to clients in North Alabama. His work requires close attention to financial records, procedural deadlines, and the legal questions that determine how a bankruptcy case moves forward. By combining careful preparation with clear communication, he helps consumers understand the bankruptcy process and address disputes or filing requirements as they work toward resolving significant debt problems.
