Matthew C. Brown is a Wiggin and Dana’s Litigation Department partner and co-chair of the firm’s Manufacturing Industry Practice Group. He represents clients in complex litigation, including manufacturing disputes, fiduciary litigation, and real estate matters. His ability to resolve high-stakes conflicts through mediation, arbitration, and trial makes him a trusted advocate for businesses and individuals.

Matthew earned his Juris Doctor magna cum laude from Quinnipiac University School of Law, where he was a Dean’s Scholar and received the Distinguished Academic Achievement Award. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Latin from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. His strong academic foundation has contributed to his analytical approach to litigation and case strategy.

With extensive experience in manufacturing law, Matthew represents clients in the aerospace, industrial, maritime, pharmaceutical, and agricultural industries. He has successfully tried multimillion-dollar claims to verdict and has secured injunctive relief in high-profile arbitration cases. His expertise in handling supplier disputes and regulatory matters makes him a key legal advisor to manufacturers.

In addition to manufacturing disputes, Matthew regularly counsels clients on real estate litigation, representing title company insureds, corporations, and homeowners. His probate litigation practice includes conservatorship claims, will contests, and fiduciary disputes. He also serves as a Special Public Defender in Connecticut’s Part A criminal court, providing pro bono legal services.

Recognized for his legal excellence, Matthew has been named a New Leader in the Law by the Connecticut Law Tribune and featured in Chambers USA and New England Super Lawyers for his litigation expertise. He is an active member of the Connecticut Bar Association, the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section, and the New Haven County Bar Association.
