Matthew A. Tenerowicz

Matthew A. Tenerowicz is the managing partner of BakerHostetler’s Cleveland office and a partner focused on business transactions and finance. He represents companies, financial institutions, and borrowers in mergers and acquisitions, lending arrangements, and capital markets matters. His clients operate in industries that include healthcare, manufacturing, and financial services. He works on transactions in which financing terms, deal structure, and business objectives must be considered together.

Matthew earned a B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1995 and a J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 1998. During law school, he served as business editor of the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution. His legal education and journal experience developed skills in research, negotiation-related analysis, and careful drafting. Those skills complement his work structuring agreements and managing legal issues arising in sophisticated business transactions.

Matthew handles senior and subordinated credit facilities, commercial and construction loans, acquisition financing, trade receivables securitizations, and commercial mortgage-backed securities loans. His financing practice also includes public and private note offerings. In mergers and acquisitions, he assists clients with transactions involving established businesses and emerging companies. He advises lenders and borrowers on the obligations, risks, and commercial terms that shape these arrangements.

Matthew A. Tenerowicz leads BakerHostetler’s Financial Services: Lending Industry team and previously led its national Emerging Companies team. He also serves on the Cleveland office hiring committee. He has been recognized in Chambers USA for banking and finance and included in The Best Lawyers in America for Banking and Finance Law. His practice brings together lending knowledge, transactional judgment, and a focus on workable solutions for businesses and financial institutions.
