Saif R. Kasmikha

Saif R. Kasmikha is the managing attorney and co-founder of Midwest Legal Partners PLLC in Novi, Michigan. He focuses on health care law and corporate law, particularly transactional health care matters. His clients include physicians, hospitals, clinics, and other health institutions. His practice covers HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statutes, fraud, waste and abuse issues, physician recruitment, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, third-party payer matters, and strategic business counseling for hospitals and physician-owned practices.

Kasmikha earned a B.A. from Michigan State University’s James Madison College, majoring in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy with a specialization in Political Economy. He later completed a dual J.D./M.B.A. program at Loyola University-Chicago. His J.D. included a health law certificate, and his M.B.A. work included concentrations connected to the legal environment and health care management. This combined legal, business, and policy education directly supports his work with health care organizations operating within complex regulatory and reimbursement systems.

Kasmikha has worked on the formation of a physician-owned hospital, reimbursement disputes, electronic medical record implementation, business agreements, and other transactional matters. He has drafted buy-sell and purchase agreements, reviewed promissory notes, negotiated with bank lenders, and handled complex litigation involving insurance defense, pharmaceutical disputes, and medical malpractice. His background also includes compliance and risk work for Humana’s national health care operations and service as a senior Medicare compliance specialist for Meridian Health Plan.

Saif R. Kasmikha is licensed to practice in Michigan and Illinois and has served as an adjunct professor teaching graduate-level health law courses at the University of Detroit Mercy.
