Matt Hood

Matt Hood is the managing member of The Hood Law Group and serves as a trusted legal advisor to small and mid-sized business owners. He counsels clients on transactional matters, contracts, and strategic planning to help them anticipate and avoid future legal complications as they grow and evolve.

Matt earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Macalester College. His legal education is complemented by a strong background in corporate operations, including experience with legal, sales, marketing, IT, finance, and accounting functions.

At Hood Law Group, Matt leads a team of tax attorneys and also focuses on estate planning and civil litigation. His practice includes advising businesses on formation, structure, and compliance, and representing clients in complex tax controversies. His multi-disciplinary insight strengthens his ability to deliver well-rounded legal solutions.

Matt is admitted to practice law in Missouri, Kansas, and Colorado, as well as in the United States District Courts for the Western District of Missouri and the District of Kansas. He is an active member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and the National Cannabis Bar Association, reflecting his involvement in evolving legal sectors.
