Matt Chicklo

Matt Chicklo is an experienced family law attorney who has dedicated his career to helping clients across Alaska navigate difficult personal and legal challenges. With over a decade of practice, he focuses on divorce, custody, and other family law matters, guiding clients with a balance of advocacy and compassion. His approach is centered on achieving the best possible outcome while ensuring clients feel supported throughout the process.

Matt earned his undergraduate degree with honors from the University of San Diego, where he also served as President of the Political Science Honor Society. He then earned his J.D. at the University of San Diego School of Law. After graduating, he returned to Alaska to begin his career in family law, combining his education with a deep commitment to serving the community where he grew up.

From the very start of his legal career, Matt has focused exclusively on family law. He has handled a wide range of divorce, custody, and support matters and is known for always putting his clients’ best interests first. In addition to his private family law practice, Matt led the Early Resolution Program for the Alaska Court System, a court-sponsored mediation program for family law cases. This position provided him with advanced mediation training and deep insight into how family law cases move through the Alaska court system—from both the court’s and the parties’ perspectives.
