Mark earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1987 and later received his Juris Doctor cum laude from The John Marshall Law School in 1995. During law school, he served on the editorial board of The John Marshall Law Review and provided volunteer legal services with the Legal Assistance Foundation of Chicago. His legal career began with a focus on Social Security disability law before shifting to workers’ compensation.
Mark is widely recognized for his contributions to worker advocacy and legal education. He authored the 2007 book How to Win a Worker’s Compensation Claim in Illinois, a practical guide written to help injured workers understand their rights and avoid common pitfalls in the claims process. He frequently lectures at legal and union events and has spoken to groups including firefighters and laborers.
Mark is admitted to practice in Illinois, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
