Mark graduated summa cum laude from Cornell University with his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1979. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 1982 and further deepened his academic training with a Master of Letters from Lincoln College, University of Oxford in 1984. Mark is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and before the United States Tax Court and is active in the Philadelphia, Montgomery, and Pennsylvania Bar Associations.
Mark S Cohen represents clients in real estate finance and development projects, including historic rehabilitation and low-income housing tax credit equity syndication, tax-exempt financing, the EB-5 program, and other funding strategies. He works with investors, lenders, developers, and other stakeholders to navigate complex transactions and funding structures. Before joining the firm in 2002, Mark was chairman of the Tax Department at Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis, LLP, where he practiced for seventeen years and developed a respected reputation in tax law and nonprofit advising.
In addition to his legal practice, Mark has lectured widely on topics in tax and nonprofit corporation law and has held leadership positions on numerous nonprofit boards.
