Mark J. Skapik is the founder and president of Skapik Law Group, where he brings over three decades of litigation experience in both state and federal courts. His legal work spans complex civil rights litigation, employment disputes, and high-stakes class action lawsuits. Known for his strategic thinking and real-world problem-solving, Mr. Skapik helps clients navigate difficult legal challenges with efficiency and clarity.
Mark Skapik earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, in 1985. He went on to receive his J.D. from Southwestern University College of Law and was admitted to the California Bar in 1993. His technical background in mechanical design, quality control, and product sales gives him a unique edge when addressing cases that involve engineering, business operations, or product liability.
Throughout his legal career, Mr. Skapik has handled a wide variety of litigation matters, including construction defect trials, civil rights claims under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, government liability cases, employment class actions, and medical malpractice lawsuits. His team notably secured an $11 million recovery in a Qui Tam False Claims Act case. Recently, his focus has expanded to include education rights, jail misconduct, wrongful termination, and Fair Housing Act violations.
