About

Chris M. Troppito is a dedicated attorney known for his experience in handling complex legal matters involving creditors’ rights, civil litigation, bankruptcy, and real estate law. With over two decades in practice, he has consistently delivered effective legal strategies for clients across Missouri and Kansas, both in and out of court.

Chris began his educational journey at Kansas State University, where he earned a degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance in 1995. He later obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law in 2001. During law school, he earned academic honors, including Dean’s List, and served on The Urban Lawyer Staff.

Chris’s work in creditors’ rights and collections began in 2002 and remains a core part of his legal career. He manages a wide range of collection strategies, including garnishments, levies, debtor exams, and working with receivers when needed. He regularly represents financial institutions and works to recover assets through strategic litigation.

Chris also has a strong foundation in bankruptcy law, having filed thousands of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases earlier in his career. Today, he uses that experience to represent creditors in adversary proceedings, relief motions, and claims objections. His background includes work for a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee and service on the Bankruptcy Attorney Advisory Group for the Western District of Missouri.

Chris handles civil litigation involving business disputes and loan defaults. He also works on real estate issues, filing quiet title actions, partitions, foreclosures, and property liens. His construction law practice benefits from his firsthand experience as a former contractor, giving him insight into legal needs on job sites and disputes involving contractors or subcontractors.

Chris M. Troppito has earned professional recognition, including multiple selections as a “Super Lawyer” from 2012 through 2024. He was also named a “Top Young Attorney in Missouri and Kansas” by KC Magazine and co-authored a bankruptcy law guide for attorneys. His legal skill and dedication continue to make a strong impact in every case he handles.
