Marjorie E. Berman is a skilled litigator and founding partner known for representing clients in commercial disputes, employment conflicts, and white-collar matters. She has successfully handled hundreds of cases across various industries, including finance, healthcare, education, media, and design, and has appeared in federal and state courts, as well as before FINRA and private dispute-resolution forums.
Ms. Berman earned her J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and founded the Columbia Task Force on Gender Bias. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude from Brown University, receiving the Philo Sherman Bennett Prize in Political Science, reflecting her strong academic foundation.
Ms. Berman’s practice includes negotiating severance agreements, drafting employment contracts, and providing comprehensive employment counseling. She is also a seasoned mediator who has resolved more than one hundred employment, commercial, and matrimonial matters through structured, principled mediation across multiple court-connected panels.
Before entering private practice, Ms. Berman clerked for the Honorable Naomi Reice Buchwald and gained early experience in personnel management and national grassroots campaign development. She later served as associate and partner at Leventhal, Slade & Krantz, advancing her litigation skills in a broad range of complex matters.
Ms. Berman’s professional honors include recognition by Super Lawyers Metro New York, Best Lawyers, and leadership roles within the Federal Bar Council and other major legal organizations. Her service includes committee appointments, authorship in respected legal publications, and ongoing contributions to civic education and professional development initiatives.
Marjorie E.
