Mariella Diaz

Mariella Diaz is the Family-Based Department Managing Attorney at Ramirez Smith Law. She has worked in immigration law since 2006 and focuses on humanitarian and family-based immigration, as well as removal defense. Her practice helps families and individuals move through complex legal steps with careful guidance, strong advocacy, and steady support.

Mariella earned a bachelor’s degree in international business with a minor in finance from Boise State University. She earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of Idaho College of Law. During law school, she earned a place on the Dean’s List of Honors and served as president of the International Law Society.

Mariella’s recognition includes a place on the Dean’s List of Honors at the University of Idaho College of Law. Her memberships and associations include the Idaho State Bar Association, the Idaho Supreme Court, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the Richard Field American Inn of Court.

Mariella represents clients before the Executive Office of Immigration Review, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the Ninth Circuit of Appeals. She also supports clients in interviews before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service. Her work includes adjustment of status, naturalization, consular processing, waiver matters, and deportation defense.

Mariella also handles U visas, T visas, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, VAWA, DACA, and family-based matters. She is deeply committed to using the law as a path to justice, family unity, and lawful options for people moving through the complex United States immigration system.

Mariella Diaz volunteers with the Idaho Volunteer Lawyers Program, the American Immigration Lawyers Association in Idaho, and local initiatives that provide pro bono support. Through her immigration practice, she offers clients practical guidance, clear communication, and steady advocacy in matters involving court hearings, agency interviews, appeals, and family immigration needs.
