Maria Mancini Scott

Maria Mancini Scott is an of-counsel attorney who represents employees in all aspects of plaintiff-side employment law. She handles litigation and trial work in state and federal courts, as well as proceedings before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Her practice focuses on protecting workers whose careers, earnings, or workplace rights have been affected by unlawful conduct.

Scott earned her B.A. from Tufts University in 1990 and her J.D., cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School in 1995. During law school, she served as lead articles editor of the Suffolk University Law Review and received awards recognizing her written and oral advocacy. This academic experience developed the research, analysis, and persuasive communication skills that support her work in complex employment disputes.

Scott reviews and negotiates employment contracts and severance agreements and represents employees in claims involving discrimination based on race, gender, disability, religion, national origin, or veteran status. She also handles wage and overtime actions, disability accommodation matters, and workplace sexual harassment claims. Earlier in her career, she investigated employment matters at the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and served as a law clerk to the justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court.
