Louise N. Smith

Louise N. Smith represents clients in personal injury and selected employment law matters throughout Georgia at Smith Law, LLC. She handles cases involving workplace sexual harassment, unpaid overtime, unpaid commissions, medical leave discrimination, car accidents, premises liability, trucking accidents, wrongful death, and other serious injuries. She has litigated and tried single-plaintiff and class or collective actions in state and federal courts, recovering millions of dollars for clients through verdicts, settlements, and negotiated legal resolutions.

Louise earned her J.D. from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law, where she received the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Student Advocacy Award. She earned an M.A. in Communication and a B.A. in Journalism from Auburn University. She is admitted to Georgia state courts, several US district courts, the Georgia appellate courts, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Eastern District of Tennessee for federal practice matters.

Louise has developed substantial experience in employment litigation involving wage and hour claims, workplace harassment, commissions, and protected medical leave. She has also contributed to legal publications addressing the Fair Labor Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, immigration-related employment issues, and other labor topics. Her writing and litigation background support detailed case analysis, statutory interpretation, and advocacy in disputes involving both individual employees and groups of workers throughout Georgia.

Louise N. Smith has received recognition from Super Lawyers as a Rising Star or Super Lawyer from 2016 through 2026. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Atlanta Bar Association, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, and National Employment Lawyers Association’s Georgia Chapter, where she served on the board from 2020 to 2022. She remains focused on prepared, client-centered advocacy in injury and workplace disputes across Georgia courts throughout Georgia.
