About
Lori Wisniewski Azzara is a partner at Cohen Seglias and a construction and commercial litigator who practices from the firm’s Pittsburgh and Louisville offices. She represents owners, developers, general contractors, construction managers, subcontractors, and design professionals on private and public projects. Her work includes contract negotiation, risk management, payment lawsuits and disputes, delays, disruptions, inefficiency claims, mechanics liens, and other project-related conflicts in mediation, arbitration, and state or federal court.
Azzara earned a J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law and a B.S., summa cum laude, from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. Her education supports a practice that combines contract analysis, construction-industry knowledge, litigation strategy, and dispute resolution. She applies that foundation when advising project participants on contract terms, performance issues, payment claims, and disputes that can affect schedules, costs, project relationships, and the legal responsibilities of multiple parties.
Azzara has represented clients in disputes involving laboratory construction, military-base projects, construction software, real property, warranty issues, and certification matters. Her experience includes arbitration and court cases concerning differing site conditions, delays, disruptions, inefficiencies, breach of contract, and mechanics liens. She also assists clients with minority and women-owned business enterprise certifications, adding a regulatory and business-development component to a practice otherwise centered on construction and commercial disputes.
Lori Wisniewski Azzara has held leadership roles within the construction bar and professional organizations, including service connected to the Allegheny County Bar Association’s Construction Law Section and Pittsburgh’s Green Building Alliance. She has also participated in firm leadership and women’s professional initiatives. Her practice combines contract counseling and litigation, helping construction and business clients assess project risks, preserve claims, negotiate disputes, and prepare for arbitration or court when resolution requires formal proceedings.
