Lisa M. Caldwell is a seasoned intellectual property attorney and partner at Klarquist, where she advises clients across all aspects of patent and trademark law. She provides strategic counsel on IP portfolio development, licensing, brand protection, and enforcement strategies for clients ranging from startups to multinational corporations.
Lisa earned her Juris Doctor summa cum laude from Willamette University College of Law in 1994. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from California State University, San Jose, which she completed in 1984. Before entering law, Lisa gained hands-on research and industry experience as a professional chemist.
Lisa leads Klarquist’s Chemical Patent group and represents both U.S. and international clients in a wide range of technologies, including semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, food science, and paper processing. Her patent practice includes application preparation, prosecution, opinions, licensing, and IP strategy development.
In addition to her patent work, Lisa plays a key role in Klarquist’s Trademark practice group. She advises on global brand development, manages international trademark portfolios, and handles registration, clearance, oppositions, and cancellation proceedings. Her clients include well-known consumer brands as well as emerging businesses building their identities.
Admitted to practice in Oregon, California, and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Lisa founded Klarquist’s Santa Rosa, California office in 2017. She is a member of local and national bar associations, including the AIPLA and INTA, and remains active in the broader IP legal community.
